I try to respond to customer emails and reader questions ASAP.

Currently I am not doing any kind of commercial promotion or sponsored posts unless it is explicitly related to sewing, so please understand if I don’t return emails on this topic. I’m still open to collaborating with other sewing bloggers but I just have a limited amount of time to blog and want to prioritize it on sharing projects and patterns.

re: crinoline petticoats. Yes, I remember them well, being a youngster in the ’50’s. There’s a funny story I remember well from 7th grade. A friend sat behind me in school, and was wearing one of these petticoats, and it had been dipped in liquid starch. Picture yourself sitting on layers of this starchy petticoat while in class. Well, the holes or spaces in the weaving of the petticoat must have been just the right size that the starch fell out. So, there she was, with a circle of what looked like dandruff on the floor all around her desk. Pretty funny. I never thought I’d see these return to fashion, but everything gets rediscovered eventually.
